We started the NewYear off in sub zero temperatures, walking around the Blythe Valley Nature Reserve. The frost on the ground did make everywhere look lovely but we were certainly glad of our hats and scarves to keep warm. We started from the Monkspath car park by the Community Centre and walked through the estate and up to cross the Stratford Road, then a circular route around the edges of Blythe Valley to come back along Notcutts Path. In many places the paths were very icy and so we took to the grass verges for safer footing. The warmth of the Field House Pub was very welcome at the end of the walk.
