On March 10th we set off for a 5 day coach trip to Hayling Island, organised by our wonderful Isobel. We stayed at a Warner's Hotel right near the coast, with views over the sea. We enjoyed bird watching on the rocks when the tide was out. Our rooms were warm and comfortable, the food was very good and entertainment every evening for those who wished to partake.

Two day trips were organised for us, the first to Portsmouth Docks. There were various activities to choose from, depending on one's mobility. We decided to visit the Mary Rose, Henry VIII's flagship, containing many Tudor artifacts. It was a tiring walk learning all about the ship, so we had a coffee and a cake at the end! We also saw the Spinnaker Tower at the docks. It was so tall it could be seen for miles around.

The second day out was to Chichester. Once again we were offered a choice of activities. We decided to look around the Cathedral. Contents ranged from ancient wall carvings to a new Marc Chagall stained glass window. We then surprisingly found another cafe so more coffee and cake!! We just had time to view the Chichester Clock. Others explored the market and shops.

Our final day was a free day to enjoy the facilities at the hotel, go for a walk, or take the local bus to Havant. Overall it was a well planned, varied and enjoyable trip. Thank you Isabel.
