April 2026 Walk

After no walk in March it was good to be out again for our April walk. We started from the Fleur-de-Lys pub in Lowsonford and were quickly out into the countryside. We walked across fields, a short but lovely stretch through woodland, a bit of road and back to Lowsonford along the canal towpath. The walkers coped gallantly with quite a number of stiles, a few climbs and small patches of mud but were rewarded with some gorgeous views and signs that Spring has arrived. We saw the first few bluebells, long swaths of blackthorn hedges in bloom, pheasants, a couple of very new lambs and heard some glorious birdsong. As usual lunch was enjoyed at the end of the walk.
