Our August walk took us around the villages of Barston and Hampton-in-Arden expertly led by Mike and Chris.

Setting off from the Bull’s Head in Barston, 10 of us walked though Barston village and then turned left along the lane towards the West Midlands Golf Club. We walked alongside the lake, which was very busy with an angling competition, though it didn’t look like anyone had caught the winner yet. It was then across fields heading toward Hampton-in-Arden before turning back to Barston. Though this part of the walk did involve a bit of a climb the view across the countryside from the top was well worth it. Not to mention the rather high maize fields!

We arrived back at the main road through Barston where some of the group opted to finish and head back to the pub. The rest of us turned right and in short while turned off the road onto a path leading to the River Blythe to follow a lovely riverbank walk. It was then a bit of road and field walking to bring us back by the church in Barson.
