Garden Group

Status:Active, open to new members
Coordinator:
When: Days and times will vary

The Garden Group is open to anyone with an interest in gardens or gardening. Although many of us are still actively gardening our own patches, the main interest of the group is to visit lovely gardens especially in the spring and summer months. Occasionally members will open up their gardens to a limited number of members and have a social morning or  afternoon with a cuppa and chat. Organising visits is shared around different members so that not all the work falls to one person. All information about trips and open gardens will be shared with the group by email with the opportunity to sign up, often  on a first come first served basis when numbers are restricted. Visits are usually about one hour away and we depend on a few who are still prepared to drive, and take other people,  to make these trips work. Where there is a wider interest and the distance is further we will liaise with Interesting Places to set up a visit with coach transport and open it up to the whole U3A. We are also looking at the possibility of a few talks on gardening in the winter months when trips are not ideal.
