The French group started about 7 years ago and has been following a course aimed at adult beginners. This covers 2 books entitled Facon de Parler complete with CDs to aid comprehension and pronunciation. Martin acts as Co-ordinator and Mentor, guiding us through the course.

We have completed Book 1 and are half way through the second book. We have 6 students and, although we meet only once a month, there is scope for our members to do homework and private studies at home in between meetings. The size of the group lends itself to meeting comfortably in one of our member's homes and there is therefore no cost either to the group or to the u3a.

Solihull Widney does not at present have any other French groups and consideration might be given to a fresh Beginners course, an intermediate course, or more advanced studies such as French conversation classes if there is sufficient interest.
